A warm and loving welcome to this Shamanic site of the Sacred Circle of the Great Mystery Society.
I want to honour with great love, my teachers Howard and Elsa who bring me, this Society and this site to this point.Tom who created this site, my apprentices and my partner who supported and held me in love as I worked to and beyond this moment. To my spirit guides and teachers, to my Sacred Mother and my Eternal Father, Grandmothers and Grandfathers, to the Great Spirit who called me and who I try to answer.
The dream is that this site and this Society will be a moment’s breath, a reflective pause in our Shamanic journeys. The Society is not an answer to the Shamanic Quest, rather part of the continuing question that calls to us all to explore, understand and experience the tapestry of this world and the spirit. It is not a dogmatic way, rather the rhythm of the drum that calls us to dance; the melody that inspires us to sing; the gentle flame that dispels the shadows of the night so we can see a little more clearly.
The Society and this its site is stake that holds down the tent, in which we meet as brethren and family, to tell our stories, share our wisdom and of course sing our songs. The world of the Shaman is one of relationship and harmony and as such we, those who walk the Shamanic way, are guides and lovers that call and hold this community of all our relations as if this life was our last breath. Let us not concern ourselves with traditional bloodlines, though with every story of other traditions we honour and respect a teaching that brings us to our own personal tradition, the blood of the Shaman flows in all of us; it is this blood that we offer regardless of our ancestry.Neither should we malign or judge other spiritual paths. It is those paths that bring us to the point of spiritual curiosity. They may not serve us, but they serve others; ‘others’ are our brethren, both internally and externally.
Let us as Shaman always be the carriers of the Compassionate Light.
In the past few weeks I attended the UK Shamanic Conference in Glastonbury. This Sacred Gathering showed these diverse rivers of tradition; but these rivers flowed with the same blood and are all flowing, relentlessly, towards the Great Ocean from whence we came; where we were the same.
Alan Davis in his closing remarks reminded us that we are companions in the single and irrefutable fact; we are workers of and with spirit. That single fact will unite our Shamanic family whatever the tradition we aspire to or grow from. Alan’s statement was of such importance, that the sacred Circle of the Great Mystery incorporated it into its constitution.
This site has a forum section to which an invitation is extended to all who are called to explore the way of the spirit, to share stories, teachings, questions, debate and joys. In this way we demonstrate our trust in each other and our desire to understand and illuminate.
We are Warriors, we are Lovers, we are Priests and Priestesses and at the same moment we are the Sacrificial Victim.
Each of us stands for, within and with the Great Spirit Creator.
We are the guiding stars for everyone, as they are the guiding stars for us. This is the Great Mystery.
